Prevention Week Oct. 5 - 11, 2008
On
Friday, Oct. 10, 2008,
EAFD
provided a day of Fire Prevention and Fun for almost 50 youngsters
and about a-dozen-and-half parents and teachers from St. John's Nursery
School, Bath, and The Wonder Kids Day Care Center, Weaversville. The kids learned about Fire Prevention Week,
and how a firefighter looks if he (or she) comes into their house in
full gear. In addition they saw various household items that could
cause fires or burns. Everyone got to look at fire trucks and
equipment and see the aerial ladder in operation. At the end, all
the youngsters got to try their hand at operating an actual fire hose
and nozzle. A good time was had by all, including the
firefighters.
